Seton Serves is a PTO committee whose mission is to generate an awareness of our responsibility to serve others, both within and outside our Seton Community. Even though those we serve benefit from our service, we are the ones that benefit most because we need to serve in order to be more like Christ. To that end, monthly service projects are being planned that will allow our students and families to participate in our mission. Our Student Ministers will be given opportunities to earn service hours by planning and promoting the projects working along with parent volunteers and members of the Seton staff that comprise the committee.
Monthly service projects and parent volunteer opportunities will be communicated in Setonotes and on the Seton Serves bulletin board just outside the school office. Some of the other projects planned for this year are the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, an Advent Giving Tree, an American Red Cross Blood Drive, a Spread the Bread Lenten Project, a Willard Food Pantry Collection Drive, and a School Supply Collection Drive for the Children of Ubumi. More details will follow.
The committee is always looking for new service project ideas to keep our mission going strong. Please feel free to forward your suggestions to committee chairs Sue Spohn or Frances Zelch. Thanks for your willingness to serve!
